Mini light inside-Art glass bottle project advice?

Hi all, I was hoping to make a small light hanging in a design Handmade in a large glass jar if that makes sense xD So I have a bottle with a cork from one of its 10 inches high x 4 inches wide. Next is to get a small light that glows purple of some sort that can be hung from the middle of the bottle [was thinking about a cable dangling from the small lamp could work if I drilled a hole through the cork, with a] small purple bulb. The last thing we need to develop a small design to explore the little light, may be out of nothing while the light can shine through and not a fire hazard [My main concern about this project]. Of all forms me know your ideas on how to make this possible, all we need now is a bottle and be ready to buy what is needed to complete this! Thanks! =)

Go to Radio Shack and tell the guy what we are building. The hook up will be a purple color that will draw juice was much less. burn cooler and last more than a bulb. Have everything you need there to build your project, except maybe the bottle. The LED is a very cool little device, both figuratively and literal. No danger of fire here. They also have the cable, battery holder, and switch. Another good place is Fry's Electronics. Everything will need so if you have one nearby. We have them in California, but I'm not sure how many actually lie elsewhere. Good luck.
