Kirigami - The Japanese art of paper cutting

Kirigami is the ancient Japanese art of paper cutting. In short, it means kiri "Cut" and gami means "paper."

Make kirigami is as simple as taking a piece of paper and cutting tool (such as scissors or scalpel type knife) developing an image and cut. Of course, there are other techniques used, as different ways of folding the paper (like origami Japanese) followed by an image cut out.
Following a few steps, you can create beautiful cut output to decorate scrapbooks, cards, ornaments and even window decorations pop.

At first it may seem difficult to do, but really Kirigami is fun for all ages and levels of art.
Many children Kirigami projects have tried in their elementary schools. Usually in winter, the snowflakes are paper, cut the hearts for Valentine's Day, or chain of people holding hands to promote cooperation and friendship. All these projects are fun and simple kirigami.

As a first attempt, remember that the difficulty is up to the creator. There are many projects that require simple cuts and designs. Choose any image with few details and start from there on a piece of paper. It is important to keep the main image attached diagram and only the "meat" cut portions.

The main tools and materials needed for Kirigami are paper, pencil, scissors or a knife blade, and if you want to do more detailed designs, a mini stapler, which will strengthen weak areas and maintaining the role for precise alignment.

There are three main rules for Kirigami, and are sometimes drawing and cutting.
While some designs require very specific folds, the best way to start is to fold a piece of paper in half and drawing the image on one side, making sure to include the folded edge in the image (this will keep the two sides of paper at once and create a mirror image of what is cut.)

To draw the image you want to cut, what best to draw half of it from the folded edge. This works best for images such as butterflies or flowers that require symmetrical sides. Once completed, there are many Kirigami things different cuts can be used for.

Here are some examples:

• Label and chain up to phones.
• Frame it in a framework of clear glass for decoration at home.
• Add translucent paper or metal in the back (or create two identical cuts to sandwich the foil) and create a stained glass appearance. It is a beautiful window hanging.
• Make Kirigami small pieces, sure color or contrast paper and place a magnet on the back.
• Ensure that the index cards and notebooks for decoration.
• Double or curve and secure the ends to create pop art.
• Use them as templates.
