Kids Christmas Crafts: acrylic paint on glass ornaments pad, how I can protect the paint from scratches?

Le I asked this in the art section, but thought I'd see what you could offer, because we are parents and craftsmanship is (usually) fairly common with us (though this is my first ship with Carson * real * paper is not a gift or something!). I made these snowmen handprint with Carson, one for us, and one for each grandparent. http://lovemylifex4.blogspot.com/2009/12 ... Were very good, but I do not want the pictures to disappear! I imagine that even just friction of the needles of the tree could scratch! Is there anything I can put a layer over the paint to avoid scratching out, or harden more and more paintings day? I do not know if it's worth mentioning, but you need something that does not leave a film. Is a clear glass ornament I'm using. I really do not know much about craft! Learning as I go!

I would put a coat of clear spray paint it, or even some clear nail polish if it is small.
