What to make on a pottery wheel?

I'm taking a wheel throwing class and would like a resource that shows an extensive list of possible craft ideas of things that can be made on a wheel. Does anyone know of any good resources, or that can think of excellent ideas of things I could make on a wheel that would make a good Christmas present? Thanks!

If you are starting out I would keep it simple and also not try for big items. Bowl and mugs are popular gift ideas. The handle for a mug is done off a wheel. Look into different glazes, there are some really nice ones which make even a simple bowl something special. Also look into stamp imprints, you can get neat effects with just a small lace doily, or some other common object - or animal stamps.
