Christmas: Basic and simple

That makes me think when I recently visited a large shopping mall, are people really reducing purchases of year? Is the gloom of the state of our economy that has many families planning to come back to buy her gift this Christmas? Generally, most people seem spend more than they can afford, especially if they are buying for their children, grandchildren, brothers, sisters, parents or other relatives.

Really I think with the current economic situation and what will be next year, everyone needs to refocus and shop within their means. What people should do is calculate what your expenses are and after that, find a budget for Christmas shopping. Many have used their credit card or other income based on to purchase their gifts. We must all put our credit cards away and use available cash. Too many of us buy in bulk so that the bottom of our Christmas tree is tightly packed with a variety of gifts for everyone.

During this time of year, often think of what used be like as a child and how to celebrate the Christmas season. For me, the idea of giving something special and personal would be more appreciated than store bought thing. When I was a child growing up in a family of eight, most of my gifts were handmade usually due to the income of my father and mother had. My father's boat wooden toy boats for children and my mother make dolls for girls. Those were the good old days. Now in today's market, we are not economically much better than my parents left and we must try all to reduce our debt. I think the whole world is suffering for the money and maybe keeping the basic Christmas and simple and above all remember the true meaning of this feast of Christmas would be useful and less stressful. I have listed some ideas of the past to create and even gifts low cost, by creating gifts, and above all enjoy your time in this season of Christmas with the family.

1. Giving gift of time to family relationships. In previous years, our family are coupon books to give to each other. It said things like coupons, dine, see a country free back massage, house cleaning, playing night games, etc. The coupons that came from my wife, children, and I personally meant a lot.
2. My wife used to make homemade items such as desserts and baked holiday cookies and other unbaked, printing photos, put them in a collage frame with a magnet for the refrigerator, the children always do some kind of artwork to give us or anyone else.
3. If you have difficulty in deciding on a special gift, you can always add a small amount of money available to an organization in honor of someone close to you, ie Vietnam Veterans American, disabled veterans, the American Red Cross, Salvation Army or any other organization you worry too much.
4. We both come from a large family and called names. In this way only gave a gift to a person, but everyone gets something.
5. Tell her family and relatives who have set limits on the lead in making this year. Remember, if your children are old enough to understand, be as honest with them and let them know you only have so much to go also.
6. Talk to your spouse and discuss what their limits are for each other. Several years my wife and I decided to stop spending on each other. Throughout the year, if we do need something and when it comes to Christmas, we find that each year we already have what they want and need. In doing so, we discovered that there was a little more to invest in our children.
7. This year we decided to purchase gift cards instead of gifts. It seems that many of our children and families are therefore difficult to buy something special that they need. In doing so, we find with a gift card, grandchildren and our children can get what they really want.

Now go back to basics. I think everyone must remember and talk to each other the true meaning of Christmas. When asked for a grandchild what Christmas is about, he said, "How many presents you under the tree. "

1. Approach and discuss the true meaning of Christmas, the birth of Jesus Christ.
2. Focus on family time. Everyone can get into the car and take a walk around town looking at all the beautiful light displays. You stay home one night and sit around of the living room, pop some popcorn and watch a Christmas movie together. If they are lucky to have a chimney that could sit around the fire and share their memories or a favorite Christmas story.
3. Focus on the practice of the rule rather than receiving. Your family may be able to help a needy family or a child can know that there will be a Christmas. You can buy food or gifts for the family. If your children use their own money to buy things for another family who will experience great satisfaction that in fact they did it themselves and help someone else, the rule of giving.

I hope I have offered one or two ideas that will make your vacation a little easier and less stressful.
