Craft For Kid

I rejected a kid and he ended up crying? Help?
This kid at our school is in love with me. Hes really weird and is like a computer nerd worlds of war craft kid. Hes not nessesarily ugly but he kinda looks like a girl. We'll call him "Eddy".
Well so anyways Eddy wanted to slow dance with me at last nights dance and his geeky little friends were coming up to me and I kept saying no. I just didnt want to slow dance with him.
Well so anyways I kept avoiding him and then one of his friends comes up to me AGAIN like "go slow dance with Eddy" .
I got so annoyed at this my anger got ahead of me and I was like "GO TELL EDDY THAT I DONT WANT TO DANCE WITH HIM AND TO GET OVER IT " Ugh I feel bad about it now.
Eddy ended up crying in the boys bathroom for the rest of the dance.
And I found out later that he gets abused by his dad at home. =[
Now I kinda feel guilty.
Should I avoid him at school or what?
Be nice to him, let him know you're not interested in him but you would still like to be friends..... and advise him to tell someone about the dad situation
