Do you have this problem with grandparents?

Ok so my daughters 7th bday is coming up. (Me and her biological father are NOT together) He doesnt pay childsupport. Anyways...Grandma called to ask what does Jay want for her bday I gave her a list just like every holiday...then she goes and buys what she wants, stuff my daughter doesnt want or even like. and then only spends 50.00 I am sorry im mad but they do nothing for her they dont event call her nor send cards on holidays. so i feel why not get the child something she really wants??? All she wanted was some arts and craft toys and they got her a science kit! They have other grandkids and they will spend lots of money on them weekly but dont do crap for my baby. WHY? Why do grandparents favor different grandkids? I figured they'd go out of there way because there son does NOTHING for her.

i know from personal experience that grandparents favor grandkids, its not fair for the child but yes they do. my suggestion is to tell them point blank that its a nice gesture that they ask what she wants for her birthday but that you'd appreciate it if they actually stuck to what you said. I can't believe that they would even bother asking if they don't even attempt to get what she wants, poor girl. I know how you feel about them not calling to ask how she is unless its her birthday, they can't just up and decide when they want to be grandparents.
My husbands parents dote on his son (from a previous relationship) hand and foot, they even call and ask whens the last time he talked to him and repeatidly state that he feels he's been "replaced "by our daughter. so yes they play the favorite card and its not fair. I hope that they see the light eventually for the sake of your daughter.
