Wood Craft Signs

I would like to make a primitive wooden sign .. but i need advice on how to do.?

My sister told me she loves wooden signs say "I always kiss goodnight" and just ask him one for Christmas. I looked online ... but I'm not sure how to make one. .... What type of paint, a cheap place to get letter templates that seem old fashioned, how to get the crackle effect ... and so on. I am missing a lot confidence in yourself when it comes to attempting any type of craft. I know that I love to do ... only fear of failure .... screw. Any help would be appreciated. Hello: For a crackle effect - there is paint crackle medium you can get at a craft store. I have not used this yet, but I think painting a base color, let dry and then paint another color mixed with this medium - when it dries, cracks are formed. The thicker the application, the largest parts that are cracked, thinner - smaller, finer cracks. You can also use a light layer of glaze on top to highlight crackle effect. You can find an example of a sign that he would like to emulate, and use that as a starting point for making your own pattern. If you need more help, just ask. Hope this helps.
